Buried in Scotts Hill, Decatur Co. TN No age/death date, but Civil War info given as Co. C 7th Tenn Cavlry Cedar Grove Cemetery (Decatur borders Henderson Co.) Death given online death records for Henderson Co. PENSION Filed on April 17th, 1924, widow Sarah ARKANSAS
(Lot) Absolom Hart, pvt, Companies K and C, enlisted for 3 years on 5/14/63 in Henderson Co at age 18, mustered at Lexington on 11/1/63, 5'5" tall, blue/grey eyes, light hair, b. Henderson Co, a farmer. Was captured at Union City, TN (March 24, 1864) with the regiment and taken to Andersonville Prison then to Savannah Ga where he was paroled on 11/20/64. He was furloughed on 12/22/64 for 30 days and discharged on 8/9/65. He applied for an invalid pension #328,202/258,901. Still alive for 1890 vets census. in 1890 vets census he says he lived near Sardis PO. He is buried Cedar Grove Cem, Henderson Co, military marker, no dates. Widow Sary went to Arkansas. Her pension in 1924 #1218,212,/965,057.
Bondsman on marriage to Sarah Woodward was J.P. England, also related by marriage to this family.
CEDAR GROVE CEMETERY
There are 100 unmarked graves there. about twenty are inline with the Harts.
Absolum and his are all in one line. Can not find my great grandmother, his
second wife Emeline. In all likelyhood she is one of the twenty next to him.
Those unmarked ones could have helped fill alot of gaps.
